Hello! My name is Malinda. I am a South Central Transit Driver in Mt. Vernon (Jefferson County). I started working as a Driver for South Central Transit (SCT) in the Fall of 2002. When I first started driving in Mt. Vernon, there were seven (7) Drivers and one (1) Supervisor for Jefferson County. Now, Jefferson County has grown to twenty (20) Drivers, one (1) Assistant Supervisor, one (1) Supervisor, and a Maintenance Facility with two (2) Full-Time Mechanics. South Central Transit has expanded so much. When they say SCT is growing by Leaps & Bounds, they really mean it! In February 2017, SCT provided almost 11,000 trips for the residents of Jefferson County. I have really enjoyed working for SCT over the last fifteen (15) years!
