In memory of our Friend & Co-worker Russ Wilson, the 2017 Canned Food Drive is being held Wednesday, November 1st through Thursday, November 9th. Donated items from riders will be accepted in place of the normal cash fares or money cards and can be used on public shuttles, demand response rides or for outstanding fees/charges the rider may have incurred in the past.

Each year SCT has an annual canned food drive throughout its six county service area. In 2014 it was suggested that future drives honor the memory of Russ Wilson. Russ was a dedicated SCT driver in Jefferson County for several years and was very well known throughout the community.  The SCT community food drives have always been a success but these past few years would have made Russ extremely proud.

All items collected are donated to various food pantries within the respective county in which they where collected. This is the nineteenth year that South Central Transit and the community have assisted countless food pantries in helping the less fortunate in their time of need.
