Recently a rider by the name of Mickey stopped by the SCT Transportation Center with an out of the ordinary transportation request. You see, Mickey had purchased a ticket to the Taylor Swift concert many months ago.  The concert would be held at The Dome in St. Louis, MO.

Mickey is so very inspired by Taylor Swift as an entertainer that some may consider him as one of her “biggest fans!” So, he arranged personal transportation with a family member prior to purchasing his concert ticket.

Now Mickey is no stranger to public transportation, as his medical condition prohibits him from driving and therefor he and SCT are very familiar with one another.

For the past few months Mickey had been sharing his “pre-concert” excitement with some of our drivers. So, it came as no surprise that when just weeks before the concert, due to circumstances beyond his control, Mickey discovered that his ride from St. Louis to home was no longer available.  Devastated and disappointed, Mickey had shared with one driver that he was considering selling his ticket as he had no way to get back home after the concert.

Our driver convinced Mickey to stop in the Transportation Center and inquire about what opportunities there may be using public transportation to get back after the concert.

And here’s how it worked…

Based on the Metro Trip Planner schedule, Mickey boarded the Metrolink in the very early hours of the following morning, rode to the Scott-Shiloh MetroLink Station where he transferred onto SCT’s Gold Finch Shuttle and rode to New Baden City Park. There Mickey transferred to SCT’s Purple Martin Shuttle and rode to Kaskaskia College Main Campus and transferred to SCT’s Cardinals Shuttle which dropped him off at home before 8:30 a.m.

Mickey is so grateful to everyone that helped him sustain Taylor Swift in concert. Multiple times now Mickey has expressed his gratitude and is still sharing his Taylor Swift concert memories!
