November 4th – 10th South Central Transit will kick off our Annual Canned Food Drive. Donated canned goods from riders will be accepted in place of cash fares or money cards and can be used with all services provided by SCT. 

This will be the 21st  year SCT has held a canned food drive throughout its six county service area. In 2014, after the passing of Jefferson County driver Russ Wilson, it was suggested that future drives be in honor and memory of Russ. For those who didn’t have the pleasure of meeting Russ, he was a dedicated SCT employee for several years and was very well known throughout the community. SCT clients have always donated and made past community food drives a success and Russ would be extremely proud to know that we’re continuing to help the less fortunate in a time of need.

All canned goods collected are donated to various food pantries within the respective county in which they were collected. 

If you would like to contribute to SCT’s Canned Food Drive but do not currently use our services, monetary or canned good donations can be left at any of our SCT offices. Should you have questions or would like more information please feel free to call us at 800-660-7433.
