Our employee spotlight this month is shining on Justin Johnson. Justin is our I.T. or Information Technology Director and has been with SCT just shy of 12 years. Its certain that Justin would agree that innovation is never ending in the I.T. world. If it involves a computer in any way, Justin has been a part of it. Upgrading desktops and laptops with the most recent software upgrades, repairing or replacing hard drives, installing and maintaining MDT (mobile data terminals) in buses, overseeing security/camera systems in every SCT vehicle and facility throughout 7 counties, upgrading phone systems, new and improved software for dispatching/scheduling offices, the ongoing, everchanging GPS, cellular and tablet technology, video cameraman on multiple occasions, oversees all our social media sites, cyber security, worked with Google to get all SCT bus stop and shuttle route information listed on Google maps and yes, even resetting passwords for those of us who truly struggle with remembering! The list just goes on and on.

Justin has respectfully earned many “nicknames” in the South Central Transit organization such as Whiz Kid, Superman, Team J or JJ.

In the super-fast paced cyber world we live in, Justin has an electronic brain that never stops! He has most recently been working to develop bid packages for new equipment and software as well as working to develop work from home solutions to combat COVID-19 restrictions.

In his spare time, Justin enjoys family, fishing, working in his yard and his four-legged kids.
