In this Employee Spotlight our focus is on Cheri Davis. Cheri has been with South Central Transit for 10 years. Her role at SCT during her first 7 years was as the Marion County Scheduler and for the past 3 years has been the Assistant Supervisor of the Scheduling/Dispatch office.

Cheri shared that what she most enjoys about SCT is assisting people, and that working in the Scheduling/Dispatch office is always challenging and is like putting a puzzle together over and over.

The growth of South Central Transit is the most significant change Cheri has seen. She says a large portion of that growth is the addition of many public shuttle routes. SCT shuttles grant a greater number of people in our community the ability to go to more places especially between the counties served by SCT, Clinton, Marion, Jefferson, Franklin, Perry, and Washington.

Outside of work Cheri says she enjoys power walking, sunshine, water, and beaches! Oh yeah and GO CARDS!!!

Life highlights for Cheri are getting married in Jamaica to her husband of 10 years and their very special granddaughter Audrey!

We asked Cheri, what would people never guess you do in your role with SCT? Her reply was when you tell people you work at SCT, most just assume you are a driver and do not realize the behind the scenes roles of the schedulers and dispatchers.
