Twenty-three years ago, this beautiful, enthusiastic, dedicated, loyal, motivated young lady came to work for South Central Transit, and she has “given it her all” ever since!
Earlier this year Beth Monken announced that over the next few months she would start her transition from a full time employee of SCT to a retiree of SCT.
We are sharing with you what Beth shared with us just a few short months ago.
I am excited to share with you all that I am going to be retiring! To say that I am a bit nervous is an understatement, as for the past twenty-three years SCT has been my second home, second family, and most importantly something I am proud to say a huge part of me.
When I first walked through the front door on Walnut Street as a temporary employee never in my wildest imagination did, I think I would still be here all these years later on McCord Street. I have raised my family with the help of SCT. Now, my kids are grown, and a new chapter is beginning, and I will no longer have the title of Accounting Clerk/Procurement Officer but a new title of “Grandma”. I am so looking forward to my promotion. However, I will miss speaking with and seeing my work family.
Again, I cannot express how appreciative I am of the opportunity that SCT has afforded me and my Family.
Well Beth, SCT McCord Street office won’t be the same without you and your SCT family, friends and co-workers would like for you to remember the difference you have made in the SCT organization and to always be proud of the work you have done! We will miss you greatly and wish you the very best in your retirement.
