We would like to introduce our March spotlight employee, Ruth Mateycak! Ruth has been a dedicated transit driver with South Central Transit for 10 years. She is one of our transit superheroes who says that clients both young and senior are what makes her job at SCT enjoyable.

Ruth shared with us that some of the most significant changes she has witnessed while employed at SCT are past supervisors who’ve been able to retire and fellow transit drivers stepping into management positions only to become terrific bosses. And oh yes, the recent increase in hourly wages!

Outside of work Ruth volunteers in the community and she and her husband visit local schools, nursing homes and daycares dressed as Mr. & Mrs. Claus and the Easter Bunny. Favorite sports teams are the St. Louis Cardinals and Green Bay.

Ruth is happily married to her husband of 25 years and is Mawma to 6, soon to be 7.  She also shared with us that if she were to write a book about her life it would have to be written as fiction because no one would ever believe it to be true.
