This month, we’re shining a spotlight on Jimmy, one of our dedicated transit drivers at the Perry County Office in Du Quoin, IL. Jimmy has been a valuable member of the SCT family for the past two years, bringing his positive attitude and passion to his work every day. Jimmy most often drives the Sycamore Shuttle and assists riders with transportation between Du Quoin and Pinckneyville.
When Jimmy isn’t behind the wheel, he enjoys a variety of hobbies. He has a passion for anything with horsepower, including Motocross, Drag Racing, and Tractor Pulls! He also loves working in his yard and gardening.
Some of Jimmy’s favorite things include the sport of Drag Racing, the St. Louis Cardinals, studying/reading the Bible, and Tombstone and Wyatt Earp are a couple of his favorite movies.
A significant highlight in Jimmy’s life was helping build a 1967 Chevy Nova into a Pro Street Machine. This incredible project took approximately ten years to complete, showcasing Jimmy’s dedication and skill.
Jimmy truly enjoys meeting new people at SCT and sharing his love for God with his riders, making every journey a little brighter.
When asked for his life tagline, Jimmy responded with “Dumpster Diver,” a testament to his knack for fixing discarded items and giving them new life. This resourcefulness shines through in everything he does.
Jimmy is a valued member of the SCT team, bringing enthusiasm and a unique set of skills and passions to his role. We’re grateful to have him!
